Hythe Civic Society is delighted to announce new colourful planting at the eastern end of Hythe.
Thanks to County Councillor, Jenni Hawkins, through her KCC member Grant Scheme, new planting has been made possible in the shrub bed on the corner of Seabrook Road and Mill Road. This bed provides a colourful welcome to visitors approaching from the east and a pleasant focal point for local residents. It was originally planted more than ten years ago and the plants were past their best. The new shrubs will bring the bed back to life over the coming months adding colour to the eastern end of the town for all to enjoy.
Sally Chesters, organiser of Hythe in Bloom, said, ‘Hythe Civic Society is most grateful to Cllr Hawkins for her contribution towards the project. The bed was in a sorry state but the new plants and a bark mulch have re-vitalised it and made it ready to provide colour for the next ten years or more.’
