Now that summer is over the old plants in the High Street troughs have been cleared away and a team of volunteers has refilled them with a colourful selection of pansies, polyanthus and crocuses to see us through the winter months.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors – local folding-table manufacturer Gopak, Lawrence and Co Estate Agents, Charlier Construction and Hythe Town Council, the High Street will be full of colour until the spring.
Thanks also to Beck Mobiles for their contribution in kind.
Sally Chesters, organiser of Hythe on Bloom, said,’ We have received so many compliments this year about the summer displays, which have lasted really well owing to the lack of extreme heat, and we are hoping that our winter planting will be equally well-received. It is always a pleasure to walk down Hythe High Street but especially so when it is full of colour.’
